Joan Holland

Color is her path.

Born and raised in Aruba and a resident of Richmond since 1994, Joan Holland has been painting for more than twenty years, studying under such well-known artists as Joan Elliott, Dorothy Lampl, Laura Loe, Rosalie Day White, and Christophora Robeers.

Primarily a still-life painter, Joan describes herself as a perfectionist on an uphill journey from realism to impressionism. For her, color is the path to discovery.  Whether the intense vibrancy of a newly picked orange or the muted delicacy of a fallen petal, color is critical to transmitting this artist’s message.

Follow her path and enjoy the journey!
